Top tech tip for filming: film on a cloudy day! Everyone thinks that purchasing the right lights is the most important thing, but lights are tough! What you really want is a really big light source. Pros call that a “soft” light, because it softens the hard edges on your face. Of course there’s a good use for “hard” lights, and they’re great for creating moods in movies, but we’re not here selling moods right now. As a superstar entrepreneur, you want your potential clients to see you in the best light.
So how do we do that if we don’t have a cloudy day available? Well, sure, you could purchase big soft lights — and I have a list elsewhere on SuperstarEntrepreneur.com that recommends some of my favorite soft lights. But if you don’t have the budget for big professional lights, look around and see what is big and white. How about a white wall? If the sun — or a big light indoors — is aimed at a white wall, you all of a sudden have a great soft light. If there’s no white wall, find a giant piece of foam-core board from an art supply store. Instant soft light source!
